The past week flew by! Spring certainly brings projects, and occasionally it brings visitors too. We were lucky enough to have two of our grandchildren come for three days, and we made the most of our time with them. Clayton and Grace love to do things, so we did things--a LOT of things.
For example, Grace likes to bake so she and I got into making bread.
Grace had never made bread before and she fell in love with both the KitchenAid mixer and the bread-making process.
Then she tried her hand at Wacky Cake.
Both the cake and bread were delicious. Grace and I also did a little junking and came home with all sorts of goodies, which we then had to wash up.
Grace helped price and pack things for me. She's got a good eye and a good sense of value for vintage items. She says she wants a vintage kitchen when she has her own home, and I believe she'll have one.
Our day included painting projects too. I had a box of things that needed painting before I can sell them; we finished just about all of them.
I'll show you some picture of our finished products tomorrow.
Clayton and Larry were busy too, working on the little cabin in the woods.
They got all the rafters up, a major milestone because this was something Larry needed help with, and with my vertigo, I am no help at all. The picture below shows the cabin before they finished work.
It was a glorious week, with weather we will dream about in the heat of summer.
We took the kids home last night, and the house has been so quiet today. We miss them already, but they'll be back this summer, and we'll have more adventures together.
Definitely looks like you had a busy weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe cabin is looking good. Can't wait to see it when it's finished and YES this weather is perfect...not to cold and not too hot. Love it!
