A Quick Look at Recent Finds

I haven't posted any photos recently of things we've found on our junking trips. That's because we've been so busy finding and packing and pricing and storing and scratching our heads over what to do with it all. One thing is sure, I won't have to go looking for stock anytime soon if don't want to.

Here are some new things we added to our booth at the Riverbend mall in Ravenswood:

I debated about stripping this old oak chair because we have another that matches it, in the natural wood finish. However, the mate needs a seat, so I decided to sell them separately and leave this one with its old white paint--I like the way it looks.

I brought in some glassware in the Wexford pattern and will probably bring in more as I unpack it. I really like this Anchor Hocking pattern. It's not rare, but it is sturdy and looks so dressy on the table. The eggplate is also Anchor Hocking.

 The sweet little porcelain top table was one of Larry's recent projects. It was painted completely yellow, top and all! And the pretty blue edge was hidden by the paint. The top has no chips at all, although it does show some wear from years of use. We also brought in the white metal pantry cabinet. It has 5 shelves inside, perfect for food storage and lots of other uses. I thought about painting it, but decided to leave it as is and let its new owner have the pleasure of picking a color.

I love that little blue wooden teapot shelf; can't you just see it with spice bottles in it, or perhaps a stack of tea towels, or tiny vases? On top of the table I put some John Deere bowls (not old but just cool), a retro set of leaf-shaped snack plates and cups in their original box, and a very pretty leaded glass light fixture, along with a butter churn and a cute set of wire egg cups with a chicken on top.

I thought someone might want this louvered panel to use as a place to hang things, or to paint and put outside a yard art or something. Architectural decorating items are popular now, so this and the two 6-paned windows below are intended for those people who know how to make good use of such items.

I've been finding quite a few canister sets lately, so I brought some in this week. The estate we bought had many different tins so those will be added to both booths as we get things sorted out.
