Then and Now

I came upon some old pictures in my workroom and thought I'd share them with you. I know we've made many changes here in the years I've lived here, but seeing it in photos is pretty interesting. Here's a few of the ones I found:

This first one was taken in the October 1977; we'd been living here since August 1976. We'd cleared a patch in the brush to build our house, and the house was still largely unfinished at the time of this photo.
Looking down from the ridge, the same year.
Winter of 1977-78 was a tough one. Here I am in the deep, deep snow of that winter.
The following summer my parents came to visit. That's my mother in front, me in the door. We still had no porch at this time (1978).

And today: the porch has added a huge level of comfort and enjoyment. We built it in 1980 or 1981, and added the big deck that you can't see in this photo about 3 years ago.

The view of the house from a perspective close to that in photo #1.

40 years can make a lot of difference.

You have a lovely home. Obviously a lot of thought, care, and love have gone into it.

This was really interesting to see. You certainly have a lot of land out there. It's wonderful.
