17 this morning, sunny then more snow. New snow over night of 1".
Winter is surely holding on here, with an umexpected bit of snow overnight, and today flurries still flying around. It's still cold too, a high today of only 22.
But it is so pretty. The ice from the other night is still hanging in the trees, not enough to cause problems but enough to glisten when the sun comes out, just magical.
The little cherry tree is an eyecatcher these days.
Yes, that's Christmas greenery still hanging on the deck. I like to leave it until February to keep a little green around.
Can you see the cardinal in this photo? That was an unplanned capture but I like it. The birds have been very busy at the feeders this whole month.

Nice wintry photos, a lot different from CA. :)
ReplyDeleteStay warm and cosy.
Yes, it sure was a change. I admit I felt a little depressed the first two days at home--but then it snowed again and I was happy. Nothing like a fresh coat of white to raise my spirits.
DeleteI love it when the sun catches ice, it is so beautiful. We are only half way through winter so there will be more cold days to come for a while, I would expect. I love that you keep your greenery up beyond Christmas, that is what the tradition would have been before our houses were centrally heated and it all wilts in the heat.
ReplyDeleteYesterday was so beautiful when we went out. All across our ridge the sun was glinting on ice; it was like a fairyland. Down lower, off the hill, there was no such ice, and not nearly so pretty. What a blessing.
DeleteBeautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Judy. This was the best kind of ice--pretty in the trees, but not much of it on the ground.
