30 this morning, heavy overcast, then rain showers, mist and fog all day.
Yucky weather! If it had been five degrees colder, we would have had snow, but alas, it us more rain. This has been the rainiest January i can recall. Usually we have snow, or flurries, most of the month but this year it is rain and mud.
We have spent the weekend cleaning up the workroom and the ebay room. Lots of sorting out and reorganizing, and it sure feels good to get it done. We still have more to do but we are over halfway done. It helped to get in tbe workroom and figure out a schedule of sorts for upcoming projects. And a bunch of chairs that I really didn't want to paint got loaded up and hauled to Goodwill. The chairs were given to us 2 years ago, so it's no loss, and a lot of space was freed up in the workroom.
My ebay room is a disaster, no lie. I now have a large pile of things I know I will never list, or that have been listed and not sold. These will go to a reseller who sells things cheaply and gives us half of the sale price so I will get at least something for these bad buys.
We also sorted and stored the auction buys from the other day, so now the van is loaded and ready for restocking our booths. And I finished up this cabinet to take to our Ripley booth this week.
We didn't work every hour, though! We got up late, enjoyed our mornings, and in the evening we had movies to watch. Tonight was Saving Mr. Banks, a 2014 film about Walt Disney and the making of the Mary Poppins movie, starring Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson,, so you know it was a good movie. Now I need to watch Mary Poppins again.
Last night we saw Made in Italy, starring Liam Neeson. The movie centered on a father and son who go to Italy to restore their family home to sell it. Set in Tuscany, so you know the scenery was incredible. The movie was excellent, a fine examination of how what we don't say can be more powerful than words. And just as hurtful.
Not much cooking this weekend, but I did make cranberry orange scones. Dinner last night was simple, just ham slices, peas, and baked potatoes. Then this morning I fried the leftover potatoes and ham, added some fried eggs, and reheated some apple pancakes which we had with the strawberry "syrup" I accidentally made last week. It was a feast and lasted us all day. So just bread, cheese, summer sausage and grapes this evening while we watched the movie.
Larry and Buddy the dog are already asleep, so I guess it's time for me to join them. Good night, friends.
I'm glad I was able to show you some frosty scenes yesterday; your weather sound typically English. At least all our mud was hard-frozen yesterday.

DeleteIt looks like you have quite the enterprise going. We've had more snow with even more on the way, particularly on the day that I will be driving daughter to the train station.
ReplyDeleteOh my, safe travels. I sometimes envy Canadians because you all have real winters, like ones I remember from years ago. But I am sure I would not deal as well with it as my Canadian friends! Doesn't seem to slow you down!
