26 and frosty this morning, but pleasant and 50 now.
Michelle always reminds me to stop and think about what I am grateful for in my life. Sometimes I get so caught up in to-do lists I forget to take time to just appreciate all the good things. Like being outside just mucking about in my gardens today, finding surprise columbine plants that came up from seeds trusted to the wind last summer.
Then too, I am thankful for remembering how to make cornbread without a recipe, a good sign, I think, that I'm not losing it yet?
And grateful for my third son, here helping his niece on her cabin project, filling the spot her father would have had he been living.
So many more things: daffodils, earthworms in my garden, being able to plant lettuce and radishes, classical music, grown grandchildren who present us with new babies now and then...
And especially for my sisters, even more especially youngest sister Julie, whose birthday it is today!
So, thank you Michelle, for your sweet weekly reminder! Linking up to her blog today.

I am also thankful for cornbread, and although I've never tried making mine without the recipe, I think I've been making it long enough and I could probably turn out a good pan.
ReplyDeleteOur huge snow pile actually went down a few inches today.
ReplyDeleteCornbread reminds me of "The Waltons". I have never have any. I think I would love it as I love polenta. Have a nice weekend! Regula
