70 and cloudy after a night of rain.
Linking to Tom's Skywatch Friday today. We are off to work on booths, which have been sadly neglected this month as canning and freezing has taken precedence. A bit of yesterday's work:
Dill pickles, bread and butter pickles, and pickled veggies for antipasto,
As you can see, we had a lot of rain last night. Little red wheelbarrow has quite a pond in there.
Glad to see your rain. Blueberry bannana bread looks so yummy!
ReplyDeleteThe bread has been delicious!
DeleteGood Friday to you, too.
ReplyDeleteThat's a nicely composed photo on your porch, I like it.
ReplyDeleteLittle red wheelbarrow makes a wonderful rain gauge!
ReplyDeleteYes it does!
DeleteWow, you put your time in the kitchen to good use!
ReplyDeleteI try! The cellar is pretty full, so I think I can call it quits for a while.
Deletewow all those pickles and jelly! I am always happy that I have some over ripe bananas for some quick bread.
ReplyDeleteYes, me too! So easy to make. I cut the amount of bananas in half and add a cup of blueberries. I think it gives the bread a nice twist.
DeleteYou are doing what we should be doing canning for the winter months ahead. Unlike squirrels we stopped doing this and rely on grocery stores. There is nothing better tasting than homemade anything. Good job!
ReplyDeleteI have canned for so many years, it's just become a habit, lol. Living out like we do, it also simplifies life by having lots of choices on hand for meals. And it was really helpful during the pandemic lockdown.
DeleteI'd like to put in an order for jelly, pickles and bread please. Do you ship to South Dakota?!?!? :)
ReplyDeleteLol, anything is possible, Jim!
DeleteThe pandemic and lockdowns should have reminded folk about creating a food store at home but either people do not know, or do not have have the time/space/skills.
ReplyDeleteRainy season coming here too, although it may be difficult to tell the difference because our summer has been something of a washout.
I think a lot of people did jump on the gardening bandwagon during the pandemic, but I wonder how many stuck with it? I have noticed that in some gardening Facebook groups, there are many new gardeners. So maybe there's hope!
