On the Road

41°f this morning, chilly and dense fog in areas.

This morning along our road:

And later in the day:

The tunnel between West Virginia and Virginia

It is about 11pm now, and after a long day of driving over 1000 miles through 6 states, we are 40 miles from Miami. Bed will feel good tonight!

  2. That's a lot of time on different roads! But you've shown how the roads do change! Enjoy your visit!

  3. That's a lot of driving!!! I was glad to read you're going down to visit your son. I had visions of you and the husband driving down for spring break, cavorting half naked on the beach, drinking large quantifies of booze and yelling "WHOOOOOOOOO!" repeatedly.

  4. I like both of the road and tree photos, and it was nice also to see both sunrise and fog.

  5. Wow! I can't imagine driving 1,000 miles in one stretch, even in my younger days. Come to think of it, I did do one trek like that once, from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Bismarck, North Dakota where I lived then. But that was only because I'd gambled away all my available money in Vegas and had to get home. Thank goodness for gasoline credit cards in those days.

  7. Whew! That's quite a trip. And the photos in the fog are so beautiful! You have a way with framing a photo, you know. And with your permission, I'd love to put the one of the dirt road and the two trees (at either sunrise or sunset, such light!) in my "To Paint" file... It's just perfect!

  8. Sleep well. Maybe even read a banned book or two.
