40°f this morning, see-your-breath cold and clear. Full moon.
Not much to say today. Larry is off to Huntington for a VA appointment so I was going to be alone all day. But granddaughter Kate is in town for her sister's wedding (which i must miss) and is coming over to visit with her little boy J. That will liven up the day!
A few random pics today. The first is son Aaron, Jaime's husband, getting ready to till up a pollinators garden at the high school where Jaime teaches science. The garden is for her bees--she convinced the school to let her start a beekeeping club, and the group has done very well.
I took this one this morning of my outside dog Buddy. He is not supposed to be on the furniture, but try telling him that! Thank goodness for the doggie covers. This is actually the only chair he gets up on, Larry's recliner.
A neighbor took this of the aurora last week, from up on our high knob.
One of the free apples from the 2 bushels we got from a recent food giveaway. I do love a good yellow apple! I need to make them into pie filling to can, but not up to that yet.
That's all I got for today. My knee is healing and looks pretty good, but I will spare you the acar photos. Still not pretty! I am getting a little better sleep but still not perfect and I am so tired. BUT I walk all over the house with no walker or cane! Still need to improve range of motion, which will come with pt. I hope.
No walker or cane! That really is pretty amazing to me. Two weeks post surgery, right?
ReplyDeletePink tractor and yellow apples, you made me smile! Today I looked in the mirror and found yes, everything does go south with age. My dimple from my smiles is now an inch lower on my cheek! No telling what the rest of me is like, and certainly no other dimples are left!
ReplyDeleteYou're doing well and I enjoyed the photo porpourri.
ReplyDeleteObviously I meant potpourri.
DeleteProgress! A good thing. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with your progress...walking around with no cane or walker!!! Now if only your sleep could go back to normal.
ReplyDeleteI love that old picture with the trees reflected in the waterđź’—
I may well have seen that pink tractor at one of the shows I was at in the past few weeks. It was publicising an event raising money for a breast cancer charity. I'll post a pic sometime if I can find it. Glad to hear you're doing well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to start the day, even if it’s chilly! It sounds like a fun visit with Kate and her little one will brighten things up. The pollinators garden is such a wonderful initiative—kudos to Jaime for getting it going! Buddy looks so cozy on Larry’s recliner; it seems like he knows exactly how to claim his spot! Thanks for sharing all these beautiful snapshots, especially the aurora—what a treat! Enjoy your day! Check out my new blog post and let me know what you think. Wishing you a happy weekend! https://www.melodyjacob.com/
ReplyDeleteFun post! I finally met a colleague who has a tractor for real yesterday! Nordic accent, we had fun.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you are getting around with a walker and cane. Before you know it, you'll be dancing. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome that your knee is doing so well, Sue. That recliner must be very comfy. Have never seen a pink tractor...usually green and red.
ReplyDeleteI’m behind. That was Friday and I am in Sunday. You must be feeling even better by now.
ReplyDeleteBuddy looks mighty comfy in the photo! Great to hear that you are getting around so well!
