Mr. William Dorsey built this model of the house in which he was raised on big Mountain in Greenbrier county, WV; he made stoves and telephone and dressers and other furniture, not necessarily to scale but with great detail.
It will need some lovin' and a lot more cleaning. It had been in an empty building for years and the mice and spiders found it and moved in. We've cleaned the worst of it, but it will need more. Jackie will be busy getting it back in order, but what a fascinating piece of history she will have.
We got the doll house from friends who bought Mr. Dorsey's last home, and were debating what to do with it for over a year. I thought perhaps a museum might want it as it is a real period piece (judging by the linoleum on the floors, I think Mr. Dorsey built this in the early 1970's or late 60's). Then another friend in neighboring Fayette county asked if I had any doll houses to sell. How simple life can be sometimes.
