A River of Stones: Fog

First entry in the River of Stones project:

The fog wrapped like a downy scarf around the base of the trees along the river on this, the first day of a new year. The ice was melting in a kind January thaw, the old year's grip loosening as the new year began with a gentle touch. It was a soft, fairy painting of river, fog, trees, and through it a bridge arched clear against a dove-gray sky, a path to the year ahead.
