Booth Photos. Yes, a Few More

Here are some close-up views of some of my favorite shelves in my Riverbend booth:

Ruby Red! Lately I've found a lot of ruby glass. I love it myself, but my house can only hold so much.
I paired it with these blue and white dishes since Labor Day is coming up. A subtle touch of patriotism?
The blue dishes are called Shakespeare Country and are by Homer Laughlin. It's not a complete set.
The "green shelf." It's no tilted, that the photographer! I like this shelf but nothing on it has sold so I'll be revisiting it soon if that doesn't change. I wish that Emerald Crest Fenton dish showed better here--it's really pretty and I think a bit unusual.
The "pink and white" shelf. Slow moving items here too although some things have sold. I will be rearranging it after Labor Day along with the green shelf, I think--or I might give it a little longer and see what happens.
One of the "amber" shelves. Amber is my second favorite after red and I have two shelves full. It actually sells a little better than the green and pink, which I find surprising. My cobalt blue items sell well, but I don't have enough of them to do a whole shelf.
The new linens display. This is one of those wood adjustable bookshelves made like a towel rack. It works well for linens; I have one like it at my Marietta booth too. It holds a lot.

The yellow things moved to make way for the red glass. These lower shelves are tricky to stock--I want what's on them to be attractive enough for buyer to bend down to see them.

That's the tour for today. Tomorrow: the Marietta booth. I've been cleaning and sorting this week so there's not much exciting to report on at the moment anyway--except cider-making. Larry's been doing that, a few gallons each evening so it's beginning to stock up. We're freezing it this year since the freezer was empty after the power outage this summer.

See you tomorrow in Marietta!

  1. Enjoyed seeing the wares in your shops. Beautiful stuff. I so love glassware. I have no room and not any to display, just a small old oak cabinet. Still, I long for more!
I love the red, the blue and white Homer plates and the green.
    Thanks thanks for sharing.
    Blessings, Barb

  2. The Ruby Reds are so pretty! I have a green depression glass (I think) cake or sandwich plate with etching designs on it that mom gave me. When we were small she'd bake birthday layer cakes and place them on the plate. I have not used it myself in a few years, but I should do that soon - it's too pretty not to use!

  3. I'm really surprised that the green glass doesn't sell - it's my favourite of all the colours.

  4. Barb, you know blue seems to be the best seller, followed closely by red, then amber, then green, and poor clear comes last of all! I should add amethyst between blue and red--what little I get of it sells pretty well.

  5. I like the green too, Rowan. Actually, it's grown on me since I started this business. And it suits my house. Green has a restful feel about it, I think.

  6. One of the best things we can do with our old glass is use, it, in my opinion, Chicken Wrangler. I hope you make that cake, and post a photo of it on your pretty plate.

  7. I came across your blog while doing a search for the Shakespeare Country Blue dishes by Homer Laughlin. I have a few pieces that had belonged to my great-grandmother. Do you know what years these dishes were made?
