50 this morning, rain overnight. Warm today, 70. We picked more squash yesterday. Kale and chard are coming along too. Still no killing frost.
Last night was the broom dance. Was it fun? Yes! The instructor also teaches bellydance so there were a lot of elements of that in the dance. It was more of a workout than I expected!
I think what I missed, though, was the folkloric background and sense of...what? Mystery? Mysticism? Depth of meaning in what we were doing?
Still, it was fun. We had apple cider mimosas and time to just visit.
There are plans afoot for a candle dance around Winter Solstice, and possibly other seasonal dances. So something to look forward to, and maybe I can provide the backstory.
As far as Halloween itself, well, it has been very low key here. Rain picked up just about the time we might have had a visitor or two, but honestly we seldom get more than one or two.
Happy Halloween, friends! I hope everyone has a wonderful, spooky evening!
Yes, the mystical aspect of broom dancing would be fun to incorporate before learning the steps! Love your magic drink! Here's the link about the glassblowing mural. https://blackmountainbarb.blogspot.com/2022/07/finished-mural-and-igikai.html
ReplyDeleteGlad the dance was fun. Love your hat, it looks good.
ReplyDeleteOh I hear you on needing the intention and meaning behind things, I need that too. It looks like it was a fun dance through and a good work out!
