44 and mostly clear. We sure need rain.
I wanted to post our other booth and the changes we made last week, but first, the weekend.
You know, we thought we'd treat ourselves to a slow Saturday. Go to a thrift or two, stop by the antique mall so Larry could visit with his buddy Sarge, meander home and enjoy some firepit time...that kind of day. It was beautiful too, a clear, cool Fall morning, perfect for meandering.
We started out fine, nice breakfast at home, then a slow drive to a thrift to drop off some stuff and see what they had. Then my phone buzzed. A text from a friend, with pictures. "I thought you might be interested." Pictures of a granite topped table, Hoosier cabinets...yes, we were interested all right!
We found the place, a falling down former store. Full of trash, but some mighty nice old things too...all of it suffering from neglect and weather. Still, the prices were so low that we bought them anyway, and now Larry has enough repair projects for the next year! We ended up making two loads, one on Saturday and another on Sunday.
I still want to go back. There is so much good lumber there, and we keep finding cool little things. I didn't even think to take photos, I was so involved in looking through stuff and thinking about how it must have been 70 years ago.
I will try to take photos of some of what we brought home; right now its all in the garage where the tractor should be, but hopefully we will get it moved soon.
Can I go back with you??? Lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a find! Weekend plans changed!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you found a great deal of treasure. :)
ReplyDeleteAbout the explosion, they are still investigating. The town is dealing with all the funerals right now, it's so sad.
What a great message to receive. It sounds like you have found a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow!
