Dinner last night was turkey and noodles, made from the turkey I roasted the other day (not my best idea when it was 95° outside), and the bone broth simmered overnight. Added noodles and sautéed celery and onions, seasonings, and done.
The honey-glazed carrots and broccoli were from this recipe. Delicious, and will definitely make again.
Oh, help! The recipe-link does not work (for me) - I love broccoli!
ReplyDeleteSorry, Iris! I fixed the link, so it should work now. It is very simple, and you could leave out the garlic, sine you don't care for it.
DeleteSue will hardly use the stove all summer long. We get by ... somehow.
ReplyDeleteI get that. I know I am old-fashioned, in that I cook a lot. But living out where we do, going out to eat isn't so convenient. And since Larry is diabetic, easy foods like cold cereal, sandwiches, etc, can only be had sparingly.
DeleteLooks like a great dinner. Let me know when it’s next in the menu and I’ll be right over!
ReplyDelete...roasting a turkey when it 95F, really?
ReplyDeleteYes. When the fridge wasn't working properly I needed freezer space. Found that turkey in there, which freed up a lot of space. And now I have 3 quarts of cooked turkey and nine quarts of bone broth. It was hot work, but it was worth it. The air conditioning couldn't really keep up, no surprise there.
DeleteFor some reason, I just cannot stand cooked carrots. Raw, yes. Maybe honey glazed, id give them a try.
ReplyDeleteI bet you would like them, Jim. I don't like cooked carrots much either, but this recipe was very good. I used those frozen carrots. Have 30 pounds of them to use up, so must find ways we like them! This recipe is definitely a keeper.
DeleteBesides baking yourself twice over, it does sound delicious.
ReplyDeleteThe recipe for carrots and broccoli looks wonderful. thank you for sharing:)
ReplyDeleteI've got a bag of carrot pennies in the freezer and was planning to add them to a soup, but you've reminded me of the honey-glazed carrots I used to order in a restaurant - so good. I think I'll try making this recipe :)
